@UtahFilmmakers represents the Utah Filmmakers™ Association—a community organization and its members—not individuals.
When posting to social media as @UtahFilmmakers, we encourage you to tag yourself in your posts—so people can know who's posting—and write in the "third-person"—even when referencing yourself.
For example:
| "@jason_sabey Scouting locations for a new movie..." |
Congratulate other Utah filmmakers for their accomplishments. You can even congratulate yourself on your own achievements and not look like you're just patting yourself on the back. Just write it in the "third-person."
For example:
Congratulations to @JohnDoeMakesMovies, whose short film "Waiting for Marzipan" is an official selection at the Everyone's a Winner Film Festival.
NOT:
My movie got into a film festival.
Because people will see the post as coming from @UtahFilmmakers, they'll have no idea who "My" is referring to... or they'll just assume that it's @joepuente—it's happened before.
When posting from events...
Be sure to post while you're attending events and use the following posting template (Save the text on your phone and copy and paste it into the "Write a caption..." field. Please do not paste it into a comment after posting; most people just scroll past and won't see it.
Don't forget to REPLACE the [bracketed text]😉):
| [Replace this text with something about the event you’re attending, and be sure to tag the (@)event/host] @[TAG_YOURSELF] Utah Filmmakers™ Community Liaison @red_finch_rental @utahfilm #UtahFilmmakers #utahfilm |
Remember to...
- Post about events while you are attending them.
- Tag those hosting and sponsoring the event.
